Happy 10th Birthday Mira!

Happy Birthday Mira! I cannot believe you are ten years old! The last ten years have gone waaayy too fast.. this is my baby!

And here you are now!

You are such a funny little lady.. you totally get that from your dad!

You are so smart.. you ask so many questions, you google everything and love to read!
You enjoy nature and being outdoors, you are not afraid of anything! You try anything and everything at least once!

Things you enjoy.. swimming, art, social studies, math and reading.

You have great friends!

You love dogs (someday we will get one).. in the meantime you babysit Stella and the other little freaks! You love french bull dogs, bull dogs anything basically fat and furry.

But most important you love your family so much.. I love that want to snuggle every night, when dad walks in the door from work you have the biggest smile on your face and give him the biggest hug! You love your brother even though he drives you crazy a lot of the time!

Happy Birthday Mira! Every time I look at you I can only smile (majority of the time..hehehe).. you melt my heart ( and your dads) with your laughter, silliness and how kind hearted you!
We love you so much!

First Week of School

Tyler's first day of 10th grade! I can't believe that we have a 10th grader! He represents school on the first day too.. guess he was excited to go back! We cannot be more thrilled that Tyler's teacher from middle school has moved to the high school. She is teaching him and will be his case manager in the REAL program for autistic students at Henry Sibley. This has the been the best news for us as a family! She is an amazing teacher, she understands the needs of the students and works so well with Tyler. I feel fortunate to have her back in Tyler's life.
Tyler is excited to hang out with his friends, reunite with some old friends from his middle school and play Special Olympics Basketball Ball this winter. Tyler's favorite classes are gym and keyboarding! We love you Tyler and hope the best for you during this school year!

Mira's first day of 4th grade! 4th grade? How did that happen? I feel as though I blinked and my life passed me by! It has gone by way to fast. When Tyler was entering kindergarten we were awaiting the arrival of Mira. How can it be that he is in 10th grade and she is in 4th?!
This is a special year for Mira since it's her last year of elementary school. She is the big girl on campus this year. Mira is excited to hang out with her friends, learn new things and  join run club. We are going to put swim team on hold this fall/winter and try basketball.
Mira's favorite classes are social studies, reading, art and music.
We love you Mira and hope the best for you during this school year!

Bye Bye Summer?

I'm really not sure how this happened but school started today!? I'm pretty sure that it just got out! One of my goals this summer was to blog..oops! Never too late, right?!

Our summer was wonderful and busy, busy! Here is the short version - YMCA swim team 4 days a week through mid- Aug, dance camp for a week, special Olympic bocce ball through mid August, Peace Camp, Extended School Year Classes, Art class through mid August, afternoons at the pool, a week at the north shore, vermilion lake, first time family camping trip, cabin, fun visits with friends far and near. And of course the State Fair! That's just the big stuff.. I didn't include all the fun little things we did!

I feel as though I just slept in my mini van and carted the kids from one activity to another. It was great! And I would not trade it for anything. I'm so thankful that I am able to stay home during the summer months and be with my kiddos. At least for now they don't mind hanging with mom!

So this morning the alarm was set to 5:45 so I can enjoy a cup of coffee in peace before the kids wake up. Mira got off to school on a great start and Tyler starts 10th grade tomorrow. There is 9th grade orientation at his HS.. so now that he is upper class man he got the day off!
And I went back to the elementary school in South St.Paul that I work at PT. It was a good day!

Here are few pics from this summer... I will post more soon. I promise!
