The Sweetest Thing

The other day she wants me to call her chatterbox. I ask why? She says, well I am. Which she is, if she has an audience watch out!
Other names we call this beautiful girl - Mumbi, princess, pumpkin, honey. She just melts my heart each time I look at her. She is quite the young lady.
Almost everyday she has something funny to say. I'm sure that you have read some of the famous quotes on this blog. It is amazing how much personality can be in a 5 year old. Excuse me, she was one when this personality came out! I do have to say that she makes things very interesting around the Buckman household.
I believe that her favorite thing to do, is boss her BIG brother around. Which she does, there have been a few times that Tyler will not take it. Watch out Mira! For a 5 year old she can hold her own pretty good.
She has the Buckman competitiveness in her, so I have been coaching her to get a full ride scholarship like her cousin K, who plays for the U of M. I guess that I better get geared up with basketball knowledge in the next few years. The Buckmans start early - 7 years old.
She goes back and forth from wanting to be  a doctor, to a teacher and a nurse at the same time and now the president. No matter what mom and dad will always be there supporting you!
Little lady - I love you with all my heart!

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

Happy Saint Patricks Day! Not that we really celebrate, neither Ron or I have any Irish in us. But a Reuban just sounded too good yesterday! So, we had Reubans, creamy potatoe soup and a shamrock cake. The cake is Tyler's favorite - white cake, with white frosting and green sprinkles. For only being Tuesday, it was a good night!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Mira and her friend E had an afternoon playdate last weekend. They went to Creative Kids Stuff for an art class, did a little shopping and ended the afternoon at B&C for a yummy treat! What a fun day for the ladies!

Blast From The Past

This weekend, I had the opportunity to get together with friends from elementary school! How crazy is that - we have not seen or talked to each other since 8th grade. One of the girls Beth, actually found me on facebook. Becky and I have been in contact since elementary - we were in each other weddings and had our girls 3 months apart. Beth and Sarah have been in contact like Becky and I have been.
Beth was going to be in town over the weekend and suggested that we get together. What a great suggestion! The four of us met at Salut on Grand Ave. We remenised, laughed, talked about our families, being moms, etc until almost 3pm. It was great to see them and become reconnected with friends from the past.

YUMMY

I found this recipe in Gourmet magazine - Monte Cubano. It was on the cover of the March issue and looked so tasty. I made it for dinner on Saturday night. You can really make it how you want.
The recipe consisted of turkey, ham, swiss cheese, pickle, mayo and mustard. The mayo was mixed with some garlic. All you do is spread your bread with mayo, mustard and then layer with the other ingredients. You dip it in a mixture of one egg and some milk. Then cook it up in a pan for about 3 -4 minutes on each side..
I served it with chips, veggies and fruit. It was a great, easy meal. I would make it again!

Hi friends - I want to share this cooking website that I actually found through face book. It is called mygourmetconnection.com. It has some great recipes. I have not tried anything yet since I just came across it yesterday. I am going to make the Chicken Tortilla soup tonight. I hope that you enjoy the site as much as I have!
